Glo2Facial: The Oxygen Facial in Knoxville, TN

Exfoliate · Oxygenate · Infuse · 50 to 60 minutes · No downtime · Farragut & Cedar Bluff

A Glo2Facial is a device-assisted oxygen facial that runs 50 to 60 minutes in 3 linked steps: a physical exfoliation, an oxygenation step driven by a single-use capsule, and an ultrasound serum infusion. When someone calls asking for an oxygen facial in Knoxville, this is the treatment they mean, and it is the most-requested item on our skin menu.

The oxygenation step is the part people ask about. The capsule reacts with a primer gel on the skin and releases carbon dioxide at the surface. Hemoglobin gives up oxygen more readily where CO2 is high, which is the Bohr effect, and that is how the makers of the device explain what the step does. Nothing is sprayed at your face from a tank.

Licensed Tennessee estheticians perform it at Farragut, 10935 Kingston Pike, and at Cedar Bluff off I-40 and I-75 exit 378. Both spas run 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 pm to 8 pm Sunday, and skin appointments can be held online instead of by phone. Most guests look brighter after one session. Texture is the slower project, and that is what a run of 4 to 6 visits is for.

The Most-Requested Facial on Our Menu

Of everything the estheticians do here, the Glo2Facial is the oxygen facial guests ask for by name. Same treatment at both spas, same 50 to 60 minute window on the calendar.

Oxygen From Your Own Blood, Not a Tank

The capsule raises CO2 at the skin surface, and hemoglobin lets go of oxygen more readily in a high-CO2 environment. Christian Bohr described that effect in 1904. No canister, no hose.

The Capsule Gets Picked in the Room

The capsule is matched to the skin your esthetician is looking at on the day, not to what you booked 3 weeks ago. Same room, same 60 minutes, a different call each visit.

No Acid Step, So Nothing to Hide

No peel and no blade, so there is no recovery window to plan around. Makeup goes back on within about 2 hours, and you can drive Kingston Pike straight to a 6 pm dinner.

Both Locations, 7 Days a Week

Farragut at 10935 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934, near Turkey Creek. Cedar Bluff at 9621 Countryside Center Ln, Knoxville, TN 37931, off exit 378. Same oxygen facial, same licensed estheticians.

4.8 Stars, Best of Knoxville 2026

1,500+ Google reviews across 2 locations and a 4.8 star average. The Glo2Facial sits on the online booking page, so you can hold a slot at 11 pm on a Sunday without calling anyone.

What actually happens in those 50 to 60 minutes

Your esthetician looks at your skin under a lamp and asks what you have been putting on it lately. That conversation picks the capsule before anything touches your face, and it is what the intake form is for. Tell them what you use at home: it can change the session, or move it to a better week. The same wand does all 3 jobs, in an order that matters, because the exfoliation has to clear the way before anything gets infused.

Nothing about it stings. No acid burn, no heat, no blade. Guests describe the exfoliation as a warm sandy scrub and the oxygenation as a fizz they hear more than feel. The room stays quiet unless you want to talk. The last stretch is a facial massage, and that is the part people mention on the drive home, not the machine.

The breakdown below is the usual shape of the hour, not a schedule. If your skin is congested, more of the time lands on the first step and the rest gets what is left. If you are dehydrated and otherwise clear, it moves the other way, and the infusion and massage take the bigger share of the 60 minutes.

  • Step 1, exfoliate: a textured tip lifts dead surface cells while the primer gel goes down, usually around 10 minutes.
  • Step 2, oxygenate: the capsule reacts with that gel and fizzes CO2 across the treated area for the next few minutes.
  • Step 3, infuse: ultrasound works serum in while the skin is still warm, usually 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Step 4, massage: most sessions close with a lymphatic-drainage facial massage, often the last 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Sun follows you out the door: UV comes through cloud and car glass, so daily sunscreen matters for the 3 or 4 days after any exfoliation.

Why we call it an oxygen facial when nothing is sprayed at your face

People come in picturing a hose blowing pressurized air at a cheek, because that is what half the photos online show. Different machine, different treatment, and we do not run it. A Glo2Facial adds no oxygen from outside the body. It changes the chemistry at the skin surface and lets your own circulation do the delivering.

The honest version is worth saying out loud, because this corner of the industry oversells. What runs in our rooms is a cosmetic treatment performed by a licensed esthetician. It is not a medical procedure and it is not a stand-in for one. It works on tone, texture and how hydrated skin looks. It does not treat disease.

We cannot measure any of this in the room, and nobody should pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is what we see at the end of the 60 minutes and what guests report that week: skin that looks awake, makeup sitting flatter for about 5 to 7 days.

The Bohr effect, in plain English

Red blood cells hold oxygen more loosely where CO2 is high, because high CO2 marks tissue that has been working. Raise CO2 at the skin surface and the hemoglobin passing underneath releases more of its oxygen there. CO2 also relaxes small surface vessels, which is part of why the area pinks up.

What the fizz actually is

The bubbling is CO2 coming off the reaction between the capsule and the primer gel. It lasts a few minutes, it does not hurt, and it is the trigger rather than the result. A few people find it strange for the first 30 seconds and then forget it is happening.

Why 2 people get different results from the same 60 minutes

The device is the same for everyone. What goes into it and how long each step runs are not, and that is where an oxygen facial stops being one generic service. The capsule is matched to the skin in front of your esthetician on the day, which is why the same guest can book 6 times a year and not get the same session twice.

Season moves the answer more than people expect. Skin in Knoxville in August, after a run of 90 degree afternoons, is not the skin that walks in during February with the house heat on since November. Pollen, humidity off Fort Loudoun Lake, 2 weeks of hard workouts, a stretch of 5 hour nights: all of it shows on your face, and none of it is on the booking page.

What your skin is doing for the next 28 days

Surface cells turn over on something like a 28 day cycle in your 20s, and that cycle stretches out as you get older. It is the clock a series works against. One session clears what is already loose at the surface; the following 3 or 4 weeks are your own skin bringing new cells up behind it. Book the next visit at 3 to 4 weeks and it lands on freshly surfaced skin rather than finished work.

Congested skin, and where a facial stops

Congested skin needs more of the first step than the last one, so that session runs longer up front and the infusion takes what is left of the 60 minutes. An oxygen facial can leave oily skin looking calmer and clearer for 5 to 7 days. Active acne is a different matter. It is a medical condition, your dermatologist leads it, and a licensed esthetician works alongside that plan rather than in place of it.

Should you book one oxygen facial, or a series of 4 to 6?

Both are defensible; they solve different problems. A single session is an event treatment. Skin looks brighter and more even for roughly 5 to 7 days, makeup sits better, and then it fades the way a good night of sleep fades. There is nothing wrong with buying a good week if that is what you came for.

A series is a different bet. 4 to 6 sessions, 3 to 4 weeks apart, run alongside your skin's own turnover, which takes something like 28 days in your 20s and stretches out as you get older. That is the cadence where guests start telling us other people noticed. Anyone promising a new face from a single appointment is selling something.

Timing it around a date on the calendar

A peel wants 10 to 14 days to settle. This does not. The look is at its best in the first few days, so the standard advice is 2 to 5 days ahead, and booking 2 weeks out wastes most of it. Confirm the exact timing with the front desk, and if your skin tends to come up after a deep clean, give yourself the full 5 days rather than 2.

What maintenance looks like

Most regulars settle into a visit every 4 to 6 weeks once the first run is behind them. If you are already in monthly for massage, the $89 membership covers one massage or one facial each month plus 10% off spa services and retail, and it works at both locations.

The first 72 hours after your oxygen facial

There is no downtime, which is the point, but no downtime is not the same as no aftercare. Your barrier has been exfoliated and then flooded with serum, and what you do over the next 3 days decides how much of the result you keep. None of it is complicated: it comes down to heat, friction and sun across the first 48 hours.

Sunscreen is the one rule without an exception. Freshly exfoliated skin burns faster than usual, and there is real sun in the 20 minutes it takes to get home down Kingston Pike. Reapply if you are outside past lunch, and keep a hat in the car.

  • Hours 0 to 2: leave the skin bare if your day allows it, and let the serum finish before makeup.
  • Hours 2 to 24: keep your body temperature down. Hot yoga, a sauna session and a hard workout all belong tomorrow.
  • Hours 24 to 48: keep a clean pillowcase and your hands off your face, because squeezing what surfaces turns 1 spot into a 5 day mark.
  • Day 3: usually when the skin looks its best, which is why the 2 to 5 day window before an event exists.
  • Week 3: if you are running a series, this is roughly when the next oxygen facial goes on the calendar.

Who should skip this, and what it will not do

An oxygen facial is not a peel, not a laser, and not a small version of either. It is a cosmetic treatment with modest results that stack over 4 to 6 visits. If you are hoping one appointment erases 10 years, this is the wrong booking, and the front desk would rather say that on the phone than after.

There are also people we move to another date, and it is rarely about the skin being wrong. It is timing. Tell us when you book, at (865) 671-3200 for Farragut or (865) 236-0880 for Cedar Bluff, and we can usually put you into something that suits this week instead.

  • Active cystic acne, a rosacea flare, eczema or any open lesion: talk to a dermatologist before you book a facial.
  • Sunburn, or waxing on the same area inside 48 hours: pick another date, that skin has had enough for now.
  • An active cold sore: the session closes with 10 to 15 minutes of massage across the whole face, so wait until it has cleared.
  • A chemical peel, laser or microneedling in the last 14 days: wait until the provider who did it clears you.
  • Deep wrinkles, real scarring or melasma: we work on the surface, and all three need a medical plan behind them.
  • A first-ever facial 2 days before a wedding: run the trial 3 or 4 weeks earlier and keep the 2 to 5 day slot for the repeat.

Glo2Facial: The Oxygen Facial in Knoxville, TN — Common Questions

Is 50 to 60 minutes the treatment, or the whole visit?

That is time in the room. On a first visit, add about 10 minutes at the desk for the intake form and the skin conversation, so block 75 minutes and you will not feel rushed. Returning guests are usually in and out inside the hour. The last appointment of the night starts early enough to finish by 8 pm.

Does an oxygen facial really put oxygen on my skin?

Not from outside. The capsule reacts with the primer gel and raises CO2 at the surface for a few minutes. Hemoglobin releases oxygen more readily in that environment, which is the Bohr effect, and that is how the device makers explain the step. Whatever oxygen turns up arrives through your own circulation rather than a tank or a hose.

Can I go straight back to work, or will something show?

You can go straight back. There is no acid step, so no peeling and no recovery window, and makeup goes on within about 2 hours. Some people stay pink for 30 to 60 minutes. Congestion already sitting under the surface can also come up over the following 2 or 3 days. If you are prone to that, leave 5 days before anything photographed.

Is one session worth it if I cannot commit to a series?

Yes, as long as you know what you are buying: roughly 5 to 7 days of brighter, more even skin and makeup that sits better. That is a fair trade before a reunion or a Friday flight out of McGhee Tyson. What a single oxygen facial will not do is change texture. That takes 4 to 6 visits, 3 to 4 weeks apart, and we would rather sell you one honestly than six hopefully.

My skin is sensitive. Is this a bad idea?

Usually it is a gentler choice than a peel, because the exfoliation is physical and your esthetician controls how much of it happens. Say so in the first 2 minutes and they can go lighter on that step, switch the capsule and keep the closing 10 to 15 minutes of massage soft. If you are mid-flare with rosacea or eczema, wait it out and get your dermatologist's read before booking anything.

Will it do anything about my pores?

They look smaller for a few days, mostly because the debris is cleared and the skin around them is plumper. Pore size itself is largely genetic and no facial changes that. If anyone tells you an hour will shrink your pores for good, walk out. What repeat visits every 4 to 6 weeks do help with is keeping them clear enough that they read smaller.

Should my first ever facial be this one?

It is one of the easier first appointments we run. No acid, no blade, and nothing that behaves unpredictably overnight. Tell your esthetician it is your first and they will name each step before it happens, including the 30 seconds of fizz. Whatever you already put on your skin at home, list it on the intake form. Your esthetician will work around it, or reschedule you if it matters.

Do I have to know what I want before I book?

No. Hold the Glo2Facial online at either spa and the choosing happens in the room, where your esthetician can actually see the skin. If you would rather talk it through first, Farragut answers at (865) 671-3200 and Cedar Bluff at (865) 236-0880, 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 pm to 8 pm Sunday.

Where do I find the price, and does the membership cover it?

Current pricing sits on the menu at the front desk and on the online booking page, and either location will quote it on the phone. The $89 monthly membership covers one massage or one facial every month plus 10% off spa services and retail, and it works at both spas, so it is worth asking about if you plan on more than 3 or 4 visits a year.
